Huddersfield African Caribbean Cultural Trust (HACCT) is currently a registered charity with a Management Committee comprising of Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and specified officers responsible for health and safety, safeguarding, web design and social media. Our current charitable aims are to promote, encourage and develop an appreciation of, and participation in African and Caribbean culture. This includes hosting, promoting and the organisation of community events, such as, Huddersfield Annual Carnival and through the provision of art workshops, activities and events
throughout the year. As part of our plan, we aim to establish and secure Fartown Village Hall as a community asset benefitting the wider community as well as promoting carnival arts, performance and visual arts.
The vision for Fartown Village Hall under the management of HACCT would be to create a vibrant, community-owned facility as a space where the organisation can develop itself and the asset as a sustainable community resource for local residents.
We have been successful with our stage 1 application to Kirklees Council for the community asset transfer of Fartown village Hall and would like to hear the views of local residents about services and activities that would benefit the local community. We also invite individuals or groups interested in joining the Village Hall Management committee to help develop and shape its future. Please support us by completing our survey and share your views.
